Sebastian Vettel won the Singapore Grand Prix this afternoon, ending a five-month winless streak. The German driver was delighted with the performance of his car and his team. Mark Webber, on the other hand, had a more complicated race due to the safety car intervention and following his penalty, but he hopes to bounce back in the upcoming races.

Sunday: Vettel ends his victory drought

Sebastian Vettel – Winner:

It’s nice to clinch the victory today. I would like to dedicate it to Professor Sid Watkins. It’s a thank you for all the work he has done to improve safety in our sport so that we can race on tracks like this one. Regarding the race, Lewis had to retire, which is a shame for him. I know how it feels because I have been in that position. I think we could have had a great battle. I was really good with the hard tires and we had a very good pace. I think it’s a good thing to secure this victory here today. We know that the upcoming races will be tough, but it’s a new challenge.

Mark Webber – 11th (after penalty):

« I wasn’t too bad in terms of pace. The strategy was going well, but the second safety car intervention really cost us and put us at the back of the pack. Here, fighting and saving tires is a bit complicated. It’s a shame. Sebastian scored good points for the team, so that’s a good thing and I’m looking forward to the next races. I love Suzuka and can’t wait to be there. »
