Mercedes wants to continue progressing in Japan

Ross Brawn, the director of the Mercedes AMG team, is delighted to return to Japan, where the fans are always very welcoming: Suzuka is a fantastic circuit, and the support that Formula 1 receives from Japanese fans every year is always impressive. They truly love motorsport and it’s always nice to see their enthusiasm when we arrive at the circuit each morning.

Nico Rosberg also shares the same enthusiasm: Suzuka is a really thrilling circuit that is very popular among the drivers due to the various combinations of corners and the unique layout. I’m also looking forward to meeting the Japanese fans again, who have such a passion for motorsport and whose support has always been very enthusiastic.

Michael Schumacher is also delighted to return to the Suzuka circuit, a track he particularly enjoys: “My motivation is still intact despite last week’s news, especially because Suzuka is one of the key moments of the season for me. I enjoy the circuit – there are some sections that are a real challenge for the drivers like nowhere else. There are the fans as well; they love motorsport and it’s nice to feel their passion.”

The seven-time German world champion hopes to be competitive in the race in Japan, even though he knows it will be complicated given his penalty following the accident with Vergne in Singapore: « It would also be nice to achieve a good result this weekend, even if my chances are obviously limited due to my grid penalty. But I have always approached these things as a challenge to overcome. »

Nico Rosberg also hopes to feel comfortable at Suzuka so he can confidently tackle the remaining races of the year: « The last race in Singapore was my best result in a while, and I hope it will be the start of a good momentum for the team and me. So, I’m looking forward to being in Japan this week and starting work on our new aerodynamic package and other updates. »

Ross Brawn hopes to take advantage of this weekend in the land of the rising sun to continue analyzing the updates made to the F1 W03 in Singapore: « The circuit is very popular among drivers given its layout, and Suzuka has offered exciting and decisive races over the years. For the team, we hope to have even more time to continue working on our new developments, and we will work hard to have a good weekend. »
