Saturday: Confidence is Key at Williams
Despite a somewhat disappointing qualifying session, the Williams team remains confident and believes they can fight for points tomorrow. This will be the goal for both drivers, Bruno Senna and Pastor Maldonado, even though they are starting outside the top 10 on the grid.
Pastor Maldonado – 10th and 14th [12th on the grid]:
« We worked hard to make the car even more competitive, but for one reason or another, we didn’t manage to put everything together today. We need to try to understand why, but tomorrow will be a long race, and I am optimistic. The gaps are small, and our pace on long stints seems encouraging, so the goal will be to attack to score points tomorrow. »
Bruno Senna – 16th and 18th [16th on the grid]:
« It was a frustrating qualifying session as I was hindered on my last lap at the end of Q1 and couldn’t set the time I wanted. However, the race will be long tomorrow and even though it’s difficult to overtake on this track, we’ve been in this position before so we’ll give our best to try to score points tomorrow in the race. »
The positions on the grid are provisional and may change depending on penalties imposed following the qualifying session.
