Friday: Many laps covered at Mercedes
The Mercedes drivers were diligent on the track today, completing 123 laps, which is more than twice the distance of the Grand Prix. Rosberg and Schumacher are quite satisfied with the behavior of the F1 W03, even though they know nothing is certain at the moment.
Nico Rosberg – 6th and 4th:
We learned a lot during the two practice sessions today and we found several directions for our settings, so it was a good day. Fourth place is not a realistic position for now, but I am convinced that we are better here than in the last two races.
Michael Schumacher – 8th and 13th:
We mainly worked on long runs today during both sessions and the performance was pretty good overall. The car’s balance was good, especially in the first sector with the slow corners, and as such, it confirmed the performance we expected due to the circuit’s characteristics. With the soft tires, I didn’t really manage to put in a good lap, but we succeeded in setting up a good baseline for the rest of the weekend.
