Friday: The Williams still lacks performance over one lap
Williams had a good first day at the Buddh International Circuit, but the English team will need to further improve the FW33 if they hope to aim for Q3 tomorrow afternoon.
Pastor Maldonado – 16th and 17th:
« Today the pace wasn’t as good as we wanted for qualifying so we’re going to have to work hard and analyze where we can improve to find the one-lap pace that will allow us to get into Q3. Our long runs continue to be better as it has been the case throughout the season so it’s encouraging for the race. »
Bruno Senna – 10th (Free Practice 2):
« We worked hard to find the best settings today, so we had to try a whole range of things to find the right balance during the second session. Overall, we had a very productive day and completed what was planned. Now we need to work on improving our setup ahead of tomorrow’s qualifying session. »
Valtteri Bottas – 11th (Free Practice 1):
« It was a good first session because we completed the loaded program. We finished evaluating aerodynamic elements and successfully collected a lot of data. It was my first time on this track, and I can say it will become one of my favorite circuits because there are nice sequences and the surface is very smooth, which means tire wear is less, so you can push a bit more. »
