Friday: Lotus drivers rather satisfied
Kimi Räikkönen and Romain Grosjean were quite pleased with their first day of testing. However, they hope to be even faster tomorrow, especially during the qualifying session. With the Lotus team bringing new developments to Abu Dhabi, they hope this could help them.
Kim Räikkönen – 10th and 6th:
We were good on Friday in India and we were strong once again in Abu Dhabi today. We tried several new parts on the car during both sessions and we have a lot of things to study before tomorrow. Our lap times seem pretty good; hopefully, we can find a bit more pace for tomorrow for practice and then for the qualifying session.
Romain Grosjean – 14th and 5th:
« Looking at today’s times, I think it’s possible for us to fight a bit closer to those ahead of us this weekend, as I believe we can still improve our lap times. I didn’t have the best lap of my life with the softs today; with the first set of softs you go on, you have to go for it, so I think I can improve a bit. Being ahead of those in front of us will be difficult, but we’re going to try, so why not. We have some new things that are working well, so we’re going to keep them with us. »
