Saturday: Vettel excluded, Webber on the front row for Red Bull

Sebastian Vettel set the third-fastest time in the qualifying session, but for having contravened the regulations, with his car containing less than one liter of fuel, he was disqualified. He will therefore start last, while Mark Webber will start from the front row, in second position alongside Lewis Hamilton.

Saturday: Vettel excluded, Webber on the front row for Red Bull

Mark Webber – 3rd and 2nd:

« I am delighted with my position; it was a good qualifying session and I was happy with the car. The track temperatures shifted between this afternoon and tonight, so we need to be careful about the car’s performance, but I felt comfortable during all three parts (of qualifying) and maintained that momentum. McLaren was strong, but we are in a good position, and we can have a good race from this position. »

Sebastian Vettel – 4th and Excluded from qualifications:

« Finishing third in Q3 was a great effort, but I should have done a little better in my last lap. I made a small mistake in the last sector of my final fast lap, but it was good to be third. I’m not sure about the problem I had at the end, I was told to stop the car. »

The double German world champion added following his sanction: « As one of the best ski jumpers of all time said: ‘Every chance is an opportunity’ and as far as we’re concerned, there will be plenty of chances (to seize) tomorrow. »
