Bianchi tested new developments for Ferrari’s end of season
The Ferrari team continues to develop the F2012 and was notably present this week in Spain to conduct aerodynamic testing of new parts with Jules Bianchi at the wheel of the F2012.
Fernando Alonso still has the means to clinch the 2012 Formula 1 World Champion title, and the Ferrari team is working tirelessly to provide him with a more competitive car. The Italian team is working on new parts to reduce the F2012’s gap with the Red Bull RB8.
If Fernando Alonso managed to gain three points on Sebastian Vettel in Abu Dhabi, he is still 10 points behind before the final two events of the season. However, Ferrari is doing everything possible to improve the F2012.
Indeed, according to Marca, after recently conducting two aerodynamic tests on a straight line, the Maranello team did it again on the Idiada track in Spain. After Davide Rigon a few weeks ago, it was the Frenchman Jules Bianchi, third driver for Sahara Force India and also a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, who was at the wheel of this revised and updated F2012.
According to the Spanish publication, Scuderia Ferrari has reportedly tested a new rear wing and a new diffuser, with the aim of improving the aerodynamics of the F2012, its weak point compared to the Red Bull.
While Bianchi was testing a slightly revised F2012, Fernando Alonso was preparing for the United States Grand Prix in the Maranello simulator to get accustomed to the Circuit of the Americas, which the drivers will discover this weekend.
