Saturday: Vettel continues his pole harvest in Austin

Sebastian Vettel – 1st and Pole position:

« It’s good to start from pole position and be on the clean side of the grid. It was important to feel the car well from the first session in order to get the most out of it throughout the weekend – we can be happy with this result and we look forward to tomorrow. The car is really nice. As for the championship, we have to focus on ourselves and try to achieve the best possible result. If you think about the positions of others, then you’re not getting the best out of yourself, and that’s what we need to focus on. Our work is done for today, but for now, no one has scored any points. »

Mark Webber – 7th and 3rd [under investigation]:

« We were all a bit worried about the difference in grip between the left and right side of the grid. We managed to do start tests after free practice 3, which was important. The hierarchy was not fixed today during qualifying, but it’s a complicated event for the tires, and that was the theme of the day. I’m happy to be 3rd. The strategy for tomorrow seems quite straightforward, but it’s the first time we are racing here, so we need to stay alert and flexible if needed. »
