Susie Wolff, just reappointed with Williams, will inaugurate the FW35

The Williams team hired Susie Wolff in April 2012 as a development driver. She has carried out numerous tests in the Grove team’s simulator, and the collaboration between the two parties has been fruitful, so it should continue for at least an additional year.

If her husband, Toto Wolff has gone to Mercedes, the former DTM driver will remain within the Williams team. Indeed, the latter has officially extended her contract as a development driver for the 2013 season. Williams has also announced, as a sign of confidence, that Susie Wolff would be the first to sit behind the wheel of the FW35, which will officially make its debut only in Barcelona in mid-February.

Susie Wolff will drive the FW35 in February at the Idiada complex in Spain. Additionally, with Valtteri Bottas’s appointment for 2013, the Williams team has decided to entrust the majority of aerodynamic tests to the Scot, who has shown enthusiasm for this vote of confidence: “I really enjoy the time spent with Williams and I truly feel at home here. Last year was a valuable experience, and I feel I’ve progressed as a driver. My role will increase this year, allowing me to continue this progression, and I can’t wait to be behind the wheel of the FW35 for the first time next month. I am demonstrating that women can play a role at the highest level of motorsport, and I would like to thank Sir Frank Williams and the entire technical team for the trust they place in me.”
