Marussia presents the MR02
As a prelude to the first day of private testing in Jerez, the Marussia team unveiled its 2013 car, the MR02.
The Marussia team presented its car for the new Formula 1 season this morning in Jerez. It was a brief presentation from the Russian team. The MR02 was unveiled on the pit straight of the Jerez de la Frontera circuit.
Regarding the drivers, only Max Chilton was present alongside the single-seater he will drive today and tomorrow. Still no news regarding the name of his future teammate, although there are strong rumors that it could be Brazilian Luiz Razia, the 2012 GP2 runner-up.
The MR02, like its predecessor the MR01, does not have a stepped nose. In terms of livery, it maintains a predominantly red and black color scheme, with the addition of more white, particularly on the nose. It is also the first car fully designed by the new internal structure of the team, after the decision was made in the middle of the 2011 season to abandon complete computer design in favor of more traditional techniques like wind tunnels, in collaboration with McLaren.
