Rosberg: Mercedes must progress in 2013

Nico Rosberg is not setting overly ambitious goals for /f1/actualite/14949-essais-de-jerez-en-direct-jour-3.html. So there’s no question of talking about world titles, but he still hopes that Mercedes will show signs of progress compared to previous seasons: « Improvements need to be consistent throughout the year, not like last year when we started well and then collapsed afterward. This progress could be a car that performs well everywhere throughout the season with a win or two or something like that. But we must make progress. We need to move forward, and we need to go through the season saying ‘okay, we are on the right track to becoming the best,’ » explains Nico Rosberg, who tasted the joy of victory at the 2012 Chinese Grand Prix.

With a reshuffling of the team’s management and the arrival of Lewis Hamilton replacing Michael Schumacher, Mercedes seems to have all the cards in hand to achieve a more successful season than previous campaigns, at least on paper. On track, the F1W04 has been the car with the most problems so far. On Tuesday, Nico Rosberg was stopped after only 14 laps, while yesterday, Lewis Hamilton encountered brake issues after completing 16 laps of the Jerez circuit.

Things seem to be going better this Thursday as at 3 PM, Nico Rosberg had completed 103 laps, being the most diligent on the track. You can follow the testing live in text on MotorsInside.
