Jerez Testing – Day 3: Massa Stands Out
For the third day of testing held in Jerez, Felipe Massa succeeded Jenson Button and Romain Grosjean at the top of the timesheet at the end of the session.
Felipe Massa finished the day on top in Jerez, with the Ferrari driver posting what is currently the fastest time of these three days in Jerez. The Brazilian managed to complete a lap in under a minute 18, quite significantly beating the time set by Grosjean yesterday.
Behind the Paulist, we find Nico Rosberg at the wheel of the Mercedes and Sebastian Vettel driving the Red Bull RB9 for the first time.
In terms of track diligence, it is Nico Rosberg who completed the most laps, the German ending the day with a total of 148 laps – enough to make up for the delay of the past two days. He is ahead of Esteban Gutiérrez (110 laps) and Sebastian Vettel (102 laps).
On the problem side, while Force India was able to run as planned this morning, the afternoon didn’t go as well because the VJM06 had an exhaust problem, so Paul di Resta was only able to complete 7 laps. Charles Pic also encountered a technical issue with his Caterham, causing a red flag. He still managed to cover 57 laps. No major problems to report otherwise.
