Saturday: Slight disappointment at Sahara Force India
After demonstrating its qualities in dry conditions during various free practice sessions, the rain disrupted the qualifying sessions for the Sahara Force India team. Due to a mistake by his team, Paul di Resta had to stop in Q2, while Adrian Sutil struggled to drive his VJM06 well in the rain during Q3.
Adrian Sutil – 7th and 9th [8th on the grid]:
« It’s a shame that the rain came for Q3 because our dry pace was really good. I’m not completely confident with these tires in the rain yet and the car was sliding a lot in the corners, there was way too much oversteer. I hope the race will take place in the dry because we have a competitive car and I’m happy with its balance. The goal is to try to fight at the front tomorrow with a good strategy and come away with some points or maybe more. »
Paul di Resta – 6th and 15th:
A rather frustrating day as we were caught out by the weather. We seemed strong this weekend so we were quite confident before qualifying, but the rain arrived earlier than the team expected. We’ll see what the weather brings tomorrow, but I’m clearly going to fight to climb back up. I have a lot of new tires, which is enough for the race and the car has performed well so far.
