Sunday: Still no points for Williams

The Williams team is not competitive enough to fight in the top 10 and this was confirmed this weekend in China. Valtteri Bottas finished in 13th place just ahead of Pastor Maldonado. Both men believe they extracted the maximum from the FW35 and they know they will have to work with the entire team to improve in the upcoming races.

Sunday: Still no points for Williams

Valtteri Bottas – 13th:

The team did a good job with the strategy today and we got the most out of what we had. I think this was my best race this season but we need to find more pace to close in on the frontrunners. I knew it was going to be close with Pastor at the end, so I pushed hard on my final stint with the mediums. I was right behind him with faster tires and was able to make a move on the penultimate lap. It was a nice end to my race but we need to improve so we can fight for points.

Pastor Maldonado – 14th:

« It was a difficult race from the start. We lost time with the soft tires in the first stint and we didn’t have a good pace. We didn’t have the opportunity to fight for better positions and we know we are still far from where we want to be, but we will keep focusing on improving. »
