Friday: The Williams is not yet up to speed in Bahrain
Pastor Maldonado and Valtteri Bottas had an overall good day in Bahrain, although there is still much work to be done to improve the FW35 and better manage tire wear in particular. Both men will work hard tonight with their engineers to find areas for improvement for tomorrow and Sunday.
Pastor Maldonado – 16th and 16th:
« We completed the scheduled program today. We tested some developments this morning and then worked on our settings for this weekend in the afternoon. Our pace on the short runs is not very good, but with more fuel and worn tires, the car seemed better. This is what we expected today, so we will keep pushing tomorrow. »
Valtteri Bottas – 12th and 17th:
« It wasn’t a bad day for us. We gathered interesting data during Free Practice 1 which should help us know in which direction to go with the development of the FW35. During Free Practice 2, we did longer runs with the medium tires, and now we need to analyze the data to see where we can improve as tire wear is high here, especially at the rear. »
