Friday: General Satisfaction at Lotus
If Kimi Räikkönen shows perfectionism, believing he can still improve both his time and his car, the Finn still considers the day to have been good, just like Romain Grosjean, whose adaptation to the new chassis seems promising, as do the goals he sets himself.
Kimi Räikkönen – 9th and 1st:
It’s great to be the fastest, but you never know what the others are doing; we just followed our program and didn’t pay much attention to what was happening elsewhere. In fact, I made a mistake in the last corners on my best lap, so there’s always time to be found. It’s difficult to find the right settings here, and the wind can make a big difference; it can work for you in one way but make things complicated in another. It’s not a bad start today, things aren’t exactly as we wanted them to be, but we’re quite fast, so let’s wait and see what we can do from here.
Romain Grosjean – 10th and 7th:
« The new chassis responds well. Today we worked on the good correlation between the chassis, the settings, and the tires to extract everything we want. It’s easy to know what you want, the difficulty is in arranging the details, but we got there and it was a positive day. We saw that Kimi was the fastest today, so that gives us a good target for tomorrow. »
