FIA: Telemetry issues should be resolved in Barcelona

Since the beginning of the season, none of the four Grand Prix held have been with a functional FIA telemetry system. Indeed, it has been a victim of repeated problems, but the company Riedel had announced that an update would be implemented for Barcelona.

This will indeed be the case, as Derek Warwick – former F1 driver, occasional driver-steward for the FIA, and current President of the British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC) – told Reuters: « We were told they have an update that will be in Barcelona, and then from there, it should work well. »

The system that allows the FIA to display directly in the drivers’ cockpits the different flags present on track or to activate/deactivate the DRS or automatically engage a specific mode when the safety car enters the track should be operational for the Spanish Grand Prix, which will take place in just over a week.
