Friday: Sauber hopes to catch up with its competitors this weekend
The Sauber team hopes to reduce the gap between the performance of its car and that of its competitors. Despite the rain, both drivers were able to complete the full aerodynamic program and seem satisfied with the progress of their Sauber C32.
Nico Hülkenberg – 12th and 15th
The day was good. Unfortunately, we were not able to complete our aerodynamic program due to the rain during the morning tests, but you can’t change the weather, and the situation is the same for everyone. We were able to complete our entire program during the second testing session without any issues. The new rear wing is an improvement. However, I can’t say if it will be enough to catch up with the competition.
Esteban Gutierrez: 14th and 17th
« We were able to complete our entire program today. The stability of the car has improved, which gives me more confidence to push during long stints. We were able to analyze the new parts we brought to Barcelona. The team is doing a great job, and we are working hard to catch up with the competition. It’s hard to assess our position at the moment, but I think tomorrow’s qualifying will show us where we stand compared to the others. »
