Sunday: Williams is still not in the game
The Williams team experienced a complicated race in Barcelona, with Pastor Maldonado finishing in 14th place and Valtteri Bottas in 16th. Both men did not have a sufficient pace to do better.
Pastor Maldonado – 14th:
The rhythm was unfortunately not there today. We made one more stop than planned because I received a drive-through penalty for speeding in the pit lane, but overall we did our best. We need to get together, work hard, and prepare for Monaco.
Valtteri Bottas – 16th:
I couldn’t get any grip with the car and we were sliding a lot from the start, which means we were tough on the tires. We opted for a three-stop strategy, but in the end, Pastor went for four stops and that seemed better. We are not where we want to be, so there’s still a lot of work to do.
