Thursday: A good start to the weekend at Mercedes
During today's two practice sessions, Nico Rosberg set the fastest time each time at the wheel of his Mercedes. The German driver is delighted but knows there is still work to be done on long runs. As for Lewis Hamilton, it's the fast lap exercise that needs improvement.
Nico Rosberg – 1st and 1st:
A very productive day for us. We covered a large number of laps and I feel comfortable in the car. It seems that we are fast again over one lap but we have worked very hard to improve our race pace. It will be interesting to see where we stand compared to the others this weekend because today is not very representative. It’s nice to be back here on the streets of my city and I look forward to this weekend.
Lewis Hamilton – 5th and 2nd:
« This has been a good start for us today and I am delighted with what we have managed to achieve here in Monaco. We did some long runs this afternoon and the super-soft tires seem to be working well. I do need to improve my pace over one lap, partly by tweaking the car’s balance and partly by doing better on my side. The car is almost where it needs to be and the pace seems good so we will study the data and work on the areas that can still be improved for this weekend. »
