Webber and Bottas reprimanded in Montreal
Valtteri Bottas and Mark Webber each received a reprimand for not slowing down sufficiently following Pastor Maldonado's accident during the first free practice session of the Canadian Grand Prix.
Mark Webber and Valtteri Bottas were penalized by the Canadian Grand Prix stewards for not slowing down enough during Pastor Maldonado’s accident at the end of the first free practice session yesterday, when double yellow flags were being waved. Both men received a reprimand.
« The commissioners found no evidence of a significant speed reduction as required by Article 2.4.5.1 (b) of Appendix H of the International Sporting Code, » stated a press release.
If it’s the first reprimand for Valtteri Bottas, it’s the second of the year for Mark Webber – after the one received following an accident with Nico Rosberg at the Bahrain Grand Prix. The Australian could therefore face a 10-place grid penalty if he receives an additional reprimand as provided by the regulations.
Besides Bottas and Webber, two other drivers have also been reprimanded this year, Adrian Sutil in Australia and Kimi Räikkönen in Monaco.
