Saturday: The Mercedes drivers a bit disappointed

Mercedes drivers were competitive in the rain during qualifying in Montreal, and although Hamilton finished 2nd and Rosberg 4th, both men are disappointed because they expected even better. However, they both plan to make up for it in tomorrow's race.

Saturday: The Mercedes drivers a bit disappointed

Lewis Hamilton – 3rd and 2nd:

« It’s good to be on the front row again, but I’m a bit disappointed with my last lap. I was 7-tenths faster before approaching the last corner where it was very slippery, and unfortunately, I went straight. I would have lost time anyway because it was really wet, but there was a chance to take pole if the lap had been complete. Tomorrow will still be a good opportunity for us. The car was nice yesterday on the dry, so we’ll keep our fingers crossed that the rain stays away for the race, and hopefully, we can give Seb [Vettel] a run for his money. We have a good car, and I feel comfortable here, so we’ll see what we can do tomorrow. »

Nico Rosberg – 6th and 4th:

« We were very fast in difficult conditions this afternoon and I’m a bit disappointed not to have qualified a little higher on the grid. Unfortunately, my radio stopped working, and communicating with my engineers is crucial in such conditions. The biggest problem was not knowing I had an extra lap to improve my time. But overall, I’m happy to start from the second row and hope to have a good race tomorrow. We need to manage our tires well, and then I think we can achieve a good result. »
