Valtteri Bottas showed his best form during the rain-soaked qualifying in Montreal today, with the Finnish driver securing 3rd place on the grid and hoping for a rainy race tomorrow to be able to compete at the front. Saturday: Bottas places Williams in the top 3 in qualifying

Valtteri Bottas – 21st and 3rd:

« It’s a great feeling to qualify in 3rd position and the team did a very good job today. The showers made the track slippery but it suited us because the car handled these conditions very well. We had the right tires at the right time which was very important today. If the conditions are dry, then it will be difficult to stay where we are, so I hope to see a bit of rain. The whole team has been working very hard to improve our performance and we have made slight improvements with each race. »

Pastor Maldonado – 12th and 13th:

Today, the conditions presented a real challenge for all the drivers because the track was changing every lap and you needed to be on the right tires at the right time. We were a bit more competitive today and I think the conditions played in our favor. I was unlucky in Q2 because I was on my best lap when the red flag came out, and when the session resumed, there was a lot of traffic around me. Valtteri’s qualification in 3rd place gives the whole team a boost and hopefully, we can score some points tomorrow.
