Sunday: Both Force India cars in the points at home
Despite starting at the back of the grid, Paul di Resta managed to finish in the top 10 at Silverstone. Adrian Sutil also picked up a few points for the home Grand Prix of the Sahara Force India team. A positive weekend overall for the Indian team.
Adrian Sutil – 7th:
The start of the race seemed really good because we were on a two-stop strategy and I was 4th on the first lap. It was a real challenge to manage the tires and make them last, but the main problem for me was the second safety car intervention because the cars around me decided to pit. I stayed on track and was third on the restart, but the cars behind with fresher tires had a huge advantage and were able to pass me quite easily in the final laps. It’s disappointing to drop in the hierarchy so close to the finish, but 7th place gives us good points so we can be happy with the result.
Paul di Resta – 9th:
« It wasn’t the cleanest race for me, but given everything that happened this weekend, I think we can be satisfied with those two points today. It was a somewhat complicated race because I lost my front wing trying to pass Nico [Hülkenberg], so we chose to change it when the safety car came out, which probably cost me a few positions. Towards the end of the race, I had new tires and was closing in on Ricciardo, but there weren’t enough laps left and he was out of reach. So a weekend with ups and downs, but it’s clearly nice to continue scoring points and achieve a double points finish for the team. »
