Friday: A lot of work on the settings from Sauber
While the Swiss team is in a difficult financial position, the main work of the two drivers was on the different settings. This allowed Sauber to gather important data to improve their car.
Nico Hülkenberg – 12th and 15th
« Finally, a Friday with stable weather conditions. We were able to complete the entire schedule without any difficulty. We tested quite a few different things, and I think our position reflects where we can be with the speed we currently have. After that, there’s still some room to improve our settings. So now, we need to closely analyze our data to get the most out of the car. Tomorrow will be another dry day, and of course, I will do everything possible to make it into Q3. »
Esteban Gutierrez – 17th and 16th
« I think it has been a very productive day. We managed to complete our entire program without any issues. We tried several settings, which changed a lot, so it was misleading with each change. It’s something we don’t usually do, but in the end, it gives us several valuable pieces of information. The day went well, and it seems that our performance on long runs has improved. With the data we collected, I think we have made a step forward. »
