Friday: Force India drivers analyze the new tires
While Force India was among the three teams that refused the change of tires supplied by Pirelli, Adrian Sutil seems relatively satisfied with the new tires. Paul di Resta, on the other hand, is less comfortable than usual.
Adrian Sutil – 4th and 11th
« It was a rather good day and the car seems competitive with a performance level similar to that of recent races. We are back with the soft tires here, which provide a good level of grip, but they have a high level of degradation. They are enjoyable to drive and will be very good qualifying tires, but long stints are quite challenging. The medium tires are performing well and very consistent, so there is a good combination for the race. »
Paul di Resta – 11th and 10th
A rather tricky session with a lot to think about overnight. There’s room to improve our setup as I’m not as comfortable as usual. The stints we did with the two types of tires gave us enough data to understand the impact of introducing the new rear tires. The two compounds are totally opposite, so we need to make sure we can bring both into the right operating window.
