Sunday: No Force India at the finish
Paul di Resta and Adrian Sutil both had to retire due to a hydraulic issue in Hungary. The Force India team leaves this Grand Prix empty-handed and sees McLaren catching up in the constructors' championship. The break comes at a perfect time to start the second half of the season on the right foot.
Paul di Resta – 18th:
I got off to a good start and was very aggressive in the first lap. I think I was around 12th place, but from there, it was very difficult because I struggled with the balance and performance of the tires. Without real speed, we didn’t have the flexibility to make the strategy work and points were out of reach. Towards the end of the race, the team called me into the pits because it seems we had a hydraulic issue, similar to the other car. We will regroup during the summer break, analyze things calmly and take a new approach for the second part of the season.
Adrian Sutil – Retirement:
« It’s disappointing not to finish, especially since things were falling into place after a poor start on the mediums. Just before my stop, I had an issue with gear shifts and couldn’t change them anymore. I came into the pits and it became clear that we had a hydraulic problem, and the team immediately told me to stop the car. »
