Friday: Toro Rosso struggles in Yeongam
After a nice return from vacation, the Italian team Toro Rosso seems to be slowing down since its departure for Asia. Jean-Eric Vergne and Daniel Ricciardo were convinced they had a fast car on this track, but they know that a good night's work can change things.
Jean-Eric Vergne – 15th and 15th
« We had a complicated Friday and our main problem lies in the car’s balance. We are not too sure about the cause of these issues, so it will be a long night to study the data and try to find a solution. Strangely, the car seemed better in this morning’s session. We are not happy with where we are, but I still believe the car can be much better here, so we just need to piece everything together in the right way and try again tomorrow morning. »
Daniel Ricciardo – 17th and 16th
Unfortunately, we took a step back from the first session because the pace wasn’t there. We really thought we could fix it for the second session, but it just wasn’t possible. Despite this, I still believe that this is a track that should suit us, but we will have to work until the last minute to be competitive tomorrow. It would have been nice to have a good Friday, but now we just have to work hard to turn things in the right direction.
