Sunday: Grand Prix to Forget for Force India
Very delicate Grand Prix for Force India: while Paul di Resta retired at mid-race, falling victim to a spin-off, Adrian Sutil harbored hopes for a top 10 finish despite changing the front wing early in the race, but a spin during the first restart ultimately ended his race.
Adrian Sutil – 20th:
« I was quite unlucky in the first lap because, after Massa’s spin, everyone wanted to move to the inside and someone hit my side of the front wing. The damage wasn’t huge, but I still had to stop to replace it. I was able to come back and after the safety car, I was in 12th and wasn’t planning on another stop. On the restart, I lost the rear when braking for turn 3. I really don’t know why because I didn’t brake late and the car just let go. I hit Webber, so I apologize for ending his race. It’s a disappointing end because I thought there was a chance to get a point. »
Paul di Resta – Retirement:
« I have to put my hands together and apologize to the team. Maybe I went too high on the curb, and that sent me off track. The way we set up the car made it borderline and difficult to drive, and it caught me out today, even if claiming that it cost us points is hard to say. The performance during the race wasn’t what we wanted, and the front tires were degrading too quickly. So, we need to regroup before Suzuka and go there determined to have a clean race. »
