Friday: Quiet Starts for Red Bull and Vettel

The day for the Red Bull drivers was rather calm: while Sebastian Vettel mostly focused on long runs during FP1 before setting the fastest time in FP2, Mark Webber had a mixed program and was able to complete it.

Friday: Quiet Starts for Red Bull and Vettel

Sebastian Vettel – 18th and 1st:

The track was quite slippery today; I’m happy with the car, but you know you can always improve here or there. I think we completed our program, we were able to test a few things, some were good and others not as much, but we’ll see. Ferrari seemed fast in the morning and McLaren could be a surprise here, and Lotus and Mercedes will be strong as usual. The track will improve now, unless it rains, the car worked well with the tires, so we’ll see what we can do on Sunday.

Mark Webber – 8th and 2nd:

« Today, it was again a matter of tires; getting information and finding out how they work best. It’s good to drive the car with fresh tires, and it was good to be on the track for a clean day in the end. We worked on long and short stints today. The car doesn’t seem great yet, there’s still work to do, but we’re going to work on that tonight. »
