Official: Jean Todt re-elected as head of the FIA
As the only candidate for re-election after David Ward's recent withdrawal, Jean Todt was logically re-elected for a second term as head of the International Automobile Federation.
The FIA General Assembly in Paris was an opportunity to appoint the president of the international body for the coming years: unsurprisingly, Jean Todt, the sole candidate for his own succession, was elected for a second term, until the end of 2017.
The withdrawal of David Ward, the main opponent of the former director of Scuderia Ferrari, last month had already significantly diminished the suspense surrounding this election. Jean Todt will therefore remain at the head of the FIA for the next four years. “Thank you for supporting our team so strongly. We are […] proud to have your confidence to guide our great organization for another four years. Nick [Craw], Brian [Gibbons], Graham [Stoker], and I thank you,” he said during his thank-you speech.
