Daniel Juncadella becomes reserve driver at Force India
It is the Spanish driver Daniel Juncadella who will be the reserve driver for the Force India team in 2014. This position was held by the Briton James Callado last year.
Force India announced this Friday that Daniel Juncadella will be their reserve driver throughout the 2014 season. The 22-year-old Spanish driver, who is also close to the Williams team, will therefore participate in race weekends and a few Friday morning test sessions, which are yet to be determined.
The nephew of the former Formula 1 driver, Luis Pérez-Sala, will also participate, as in 2013, in the DTM championship driving a Mercedes.
The main person involved is thrilled with his program for the upcoming year: « Joining Sahara Force India is a dream come true. » he says on the team’s official website. « It is a tremendous opportunity for me to learn and possibly reach a new level to be able to race in Formula 1. Working with the team on track and at the factory will give me valuable experience and I will do my best to help the team achieve its goals in 2014. »
