Jerez Testing Live – Day 1
MotorsInside is present in Jerez for the first private testing session of Formula 1 in 2014 and we invite you to follow them live and in full.
Private Formula 1 testing begins this Tuesday on the Jerez track. Expect a lot of excitement for the unveiling of the new cars, but the teams will have a lot of work. In addition to the usual reliability and functionality tests, the drivers and teams will have to learn how to drive these new single-seaters equipped with a hybrid power unit. This day is expected to be busy.
Pirelli will also attend, but will bring specific tires to Jerez for these tests, designed to function in the cool conditions that caused many problems in previous years.
For this first day, the following will be on track: Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull), Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari), Jenson Button (McLaren), Sergio Pérez (Force India), Esteban Gutierrez (Sauber), Jean-Eric Vergne (Toro Rosso), Valtteri Bottas (Williams), and Marcus Ericsson (Caterham). As for Marussia, Max Chilton was initially planned to drive, but due to an issue with the car, the team will not be running this Tuesday. You can also find the complete testing schedule.
The tests not being televised, the Motors Inside editorial team will provide a text live feed throughout the day to keep you informed of the on-track activity. The tests will start at 9:00 AM and will end at 5:00 PM. A break might be taken by the various teams around 1:00 PM to allow the drivers, as well as the teams and observers, to have a meal.
