Ferrari announces the presentation date of its F1 2024

Contrary to last year, the reveal will not take place on Valentine’s Day, but 24 hours earlier: it will be on February 13th this year! Lucky number or not, Fredéric Vasseur answered many questions during a meeting with the Italian media.

Questioned about the presentation date, Fred Vasseur replied: “« Because we will have one more day before the tests,” he joked. “« No, more seriously, it’s quite tight. The tests are taking place a little earlier, and it’s a big challenge to prepare everything. Therefore, we didn’t have any other option. I believe other teams are doing it on the 14th, but it’s quite difficult for everyone to be ready for Bahrain.” “»”

Then, there was also talk about the performance of this car beyond its design.

« I do not need to promise anything. The best way is to focus on what we are doing, to keep our promises, and the Christmas gift will be, if we are able to do a good job, in March, not for Christmas. The Christmas gift is based on a promise, and I do not want to make a promise. We will see in March. It will be the Easter gift! »

Finally capable of meeting expectations?

The SF-23 had generated great anticipation, ultimately overshadowed by Red Bull’s absolute dominance throughout the season. Ferrari lost the second place they had secured in the constructors’ championship last year to finish 3rd, just behind Mercedes this year.

Nonetheless, the end of the season was a success: Carlos Sainz brought home the only victory for a team other than Red Bull in 2023. Will the Italian team start this new season on the same momentum?
