The stewards delivered an initial verdict after the Australian race: Kamui Kobayashi was cleared of blame for the first corner collision.
After the Australian Grand Prix, the stewards’ decision on the first corner incident was made: Kamui Kobayashi was cleared of blame for the collision with Felipe Massa.
The responsibility of the Japanese driver in the collision with the Williams driver at the first corner of the Grand Prix is not involved, as the Caterham driver was a victim of a technical failure on his CT05. The stewards determined that the incident was “caused by a serious technical problem completely beyond the driver’s control,” according to the official Formula 1 website.
A decision is still awaited on the Ricciardo case.
