Friday: The Force India drivers have a good car
After scoring big points in the previous Grand Prix, Force India seems capable of finishing in the points again this weekend. Sergio Perez and Nico Hülkenberg felt a significant difference in the conditions during the practice sessions but were expecting this type of change.
Nico Hülkenberg (No. 27) – 4th and 13th
While he is the main outsider of the big teams in the fight for major points at the start of the season, Nico Hülkenberg downplays his performance in the first practice session: « The first session wasn’t very representative given that the race will take place at a completely different time of day and under very different conditions, but the second was a bit more realistic. »
The German is satisfied with the day and his single-seater so far. We just need to make a few changes to our settings tonight. I think we have a good base for the rest of the weekend.
Sergio Pérez (No. 11) – 9th and 10th
After a disastrous weekend in Malaysia, the Mexican had a good first day on the Sakhir track: « We completed our program entirely, and we are quite happy with our car, especially with the medium tires. »
Like the other drivers, “Checo” highlights the changes related to particular conditions: « The track temperature and conditions changed significantly between late afternoon and evening, which was something we expected. »
From now on, the Mexican is focusing on the rest of the weekend: « We will continue to improve our car for tomorrow, but we can be satisfied with the quantity and quality of the work done today. »
