Saturday: Bianchi at ease with the Marussia

Jules Bianchi's day, struggling in the morning and comfortable during the qualifying sessions, is the exact mirror of Max Chilton's day, who was unable to regain the balance he had in FP3 during Q1.

Saturday: Bianchi at ease with the Marussia

Jules Bianchi (No. 17) – 17th and 19th

For the Frenchman, the day hadn’t started well, but last-minute adjustments helped him get back in the game in the afternoon: « This morning, I was really unhappy with the car, but we made changes during the break and they worked perfectly for qualifying, even though the track was quite tricky with the rain. »

He was able to fight with Kamui Kobayashi but had to concede: « On my last lap, I went wide in the final corner and he was able to stay ahead. However, we were very close, even with my mistake, so it seems we could have a good race tomorrow in better conditions. »

Max Chilton (No. 4) – 14th and 21st

The Briton experienced the opposite situation to his teammate: « I am quite frustrated. The car was really good in FP3 this morning, but I struggled with the balance in qualifying and couldn’t put together a clean lap. The conditions were quite challenging but I still felt there was more to achieve if I had been happier with the balance. […] tomorrow is another day. »
