Sunday: Lotus and Grosjean finally in the points!

Romain Grosjean (No. 8) – 8th

Finally! After five races, the Franco-Swiss driver finally scores his first finish in the points, despite issues during the Grand Prix: « It has been a tough battle to score points this season and it was certainly one of the most difficult races I’ve competed in for a long time. I did everything I could to drive with the power unit problems, which really made things difficult when fighting with other cars. »

He is satisfied and congratulates the team, but he knows there is room for improvement: « It’s good for the whole team on the track and at Enstone to finally have a reward for their hard work. There are still many areas where we can improve, and the car was certainly not as fast today as it was yesterday, with different track conditions as well as other problems. »

He takes this opportunity to dedicate these points to his mother: « It’s Mother’s Day in Switzerland, so this one is for mom! »

Pastor Maldonado (No. 13) – 15th

For the Venezuelan, the race was difficult: after starting from the last row, he quickly received a penalty for hitting Marcus Ericsson. He notes progress and shortcomings: « We made a step forward with the car’s pace this weekend, it was more competitive than 15th position, but the lack of top speed meant we weren’t able to attack even though we had a faster car than the ones around us. »

« Today’s result is a bit disappointing, but my race was already compromised by starting at the back of the grid. At least we saw the checkered flag and collected more data for the team to continue developing the car, » he concluded philosophically.
