Sunday: Sauber has a lot, a lot of work to do
For Sauber, the race was bad: Esteban Gutierrez and Adrian Sutil finished at the back and are still suffering from tire degradation.
Esteban Gutierrez (No. 21) – 16th
After a relatively good qualification and an interesting start, the Mexican endured the race: « It was a good start, and I managed to gain a few places. After that, I just dropped back. During the race, it was very difficult to keep the tires alive and have good speed on the straights. I was trying to defend my position. Despite that, we must not lose our motivation. We have tests this week, and we need to have the right program to get through it. »
Adrian Sutil (No. 99) – 17th
The German’s qualification did not bode well for a great race, and this was quickly confirmed: « The race was not very exciting for me. Unfortunately, my car’s performance was not good, and I struggled with grip. The two stints on mediums were difficult, I think the hard tires worked better. We still have a huge problem with the level of grip, especially when entering corners. We need to keep working on it. »
