The day was disrupted by issues on the side of the Faenza team: while Jean-Eric Vergne's program was able to proceed as scheduled, Daniil Kvyat's second session was quickly interrupted.

Friday: Vergne bittersweet at Toro Rosso

Jean-Eric Vergne (#25) – 10th and 10th

For the Frenchman, the day was quite productive: « Despite the small problem we had this morning, which shortened my session, we managed to accomplish a good testing program today. »

Even though the sessions were good in terms of times, the Parisian is not fully satisfied: « As far as the car’s performance is concerned, I’m not 100% happy because, even if it seemed promising this morning, we lost speed during the afternoon. On the positive side, the pace on long runs wasn’t too bad and we know we need to improve for FP3 and qualifying, so I’m very confident for tomorrow. »

Daniil Kvyat (No. 26) – 15th and 19th

On the Russian’s side, the second session ended after 9 laps, but despite this lack of running, confidence remains: « We had some problems with the car today which limited my track time. It’s not ideal since I’ve never driven here before, but thanks to a useful simulator session last week, I’m quite confident with the circuit and feel capable of attacking the curbs and corners. It’s an interesting track, very different from those we’ve driven on so far. Apart from this problem, the car seemed good, so I’m still confident and feel that we can aim high for tomorrow. »
