Friday: Kvyat relaxed, Vergne frustrated for Toro Rosso at Hockenheim
The first day of the German Grand Prix in F1 was rather mixed for Scuderia Toro Rosso: while Daniil Kvyat had a normal working day, Jean-Eric Vergne is not satisfied with the behavior of his Formula 1 car.
Daniil Kvyat (No. 26) – 9th and 12th
For the young Russian, the day went smoothly, the schedule was followed, and the data will be analyzed in the evening. Regarding the scorching heat at Hockenheim, the Scuderia Toro Rosso driver is not too concerned: « The heat? Well, it just means we have to take care of our tires, but it’s the same for everyone. »
Jean-Eric Vergne (No. 25) – 12th and 15th
For the Frenchman, the day was less smooth and balance issues appeared on his car: « I wouldn’t say it’s a perfect Friday, I wasn’t really happy with the car’s balance during both sessions, which means we now have a lot of work to do. We’ll look at the collected data to improve the car and aim for a good qualification. On this circuit, in particular, it’s important to have the highest possible starting position. It’s possible, we’ve done it in the past so I remain confident for tomorrow. »
