Radio messages in F1: The FIA eases restrictions before the Singapore GP

The FIA has decided to reverse part of the bans issued to limit radio messages from the pit to the car, after a meeting with representatives of Formula 1 teams.

While no radio messages related to performance and settings adjustment were to be transmitted to the driver during GP weekends starting from Singapore, this limitation has been reviewed, paving the way for a relaxation of the first technical directive issued this week.

The meeting between the governing body and the team directors resulted in a revision and postponement of the restriction on performance messages to the next season, due to the complexity of introducing such a ban in the short term and the potentially different effects from one team to another.

The list of prohibited messages is therefore reduced to the following:

– Le respect des limites de la piste.

– Le contact avec les vibreurs.

– Les réglages pour des virages spécifiques.

– Les comparatifs ou le détail des temps des secteurs d’un autre pilote.

– La comparaison des vitesses en virage avec un autre pilote.

– La comparaison des rapports sélectionnés avec un autre pilote.

– La sélection des rapports en général.

– Les points de freinage.

– Le niveau de freinage par rapport à un autre pilote.

– Le niveau de freinage ou le moment où appuyer sur la pédale de frein en général.

– La stabilité de la voiture au freinage.

– Le moment où appuyer sur la pédale d’accélérateur par rapport à un autre pilote.

– Le moment où appuyer sur la pédale d’accélérateur en général.

– L’utilisation du DRS par rapport à un autre pilote.

– L’utilisation de n’importe quel bouton de dépassement.

– La technique de pilotage en général.
