McLaren: Presentation of the MP4-30

The new McLaren single-seater was unveiled this afternoon on the team’s website. The MP4-30, powered by a Honda hybrid engine, is significantly different from its predecessor. The front nose, in particular, has been completely redesigned.

The silver and red livery, however, harks back to the 90s and 2000s when the cigarette brand West was the main sponsor of the team. Moreover, McLaren still does not display a main partner on its car, which might be temporary. However, aside from CNN, the coffee brand Segafredo Zanetti, a historic partner from the initial period of association between McLaren and Honda, is making its return on the rear wing of the British cars.

Ron Dennis welcomes with a certain emotion the newborn of the house and this mythical partnership: « Although our renewed alliance began several months ago, the launch of the McLaren-Honda MP4-30 marks the beginning of a long journey. We have already come a long way, and even though there is still much work to be done before we can renew the successes achieved 25 years ago, it is already clear that there are many synergies and potential in our partnership, and I am sure that together, we will get to where we want to be: winning Grand Prix and eventually world championships. »

Same sentiment from Eric Boullier, who notes the work accomplished since his arrival at McLaren a year ago: The start of the 2015 season is actually the culmination of a period of great change for the team, and for the better, along with a huge amount of hard work from everyone.
