McLaren unveils its new colors
The McLaren team unveiled today the colors of its new livery, which will take effect this weekend, as part of the Spanish Grand Prix.
While an official presentation was expected tomorrow, McLaren surprised everyone this afternoon by unveiling photos of its new livery on its website.
No surprise, gray and red remain the dominant colors of the new look of the MP4-30. However, the silver and shiny aspect no longer appears on the bodywork in an effort to better adapt to cameras, as the team stated in a press release yesterday: « We have decided to modify our car’s livery to improve its visual impact and optimize it, not only when exposed to daylight but also under spotlights »
If some thought that this change would surely be accompanied by the announcement of a new sponsor, this is not actually the case, at least based on the photos published today. However, the Spanish Grand Prix weekend will be an opportunity for McLaren to celebrate 30 years of its partnership with Tag Heuer.
