Ricciardo will aim for the podium in the race in Monaco
Fourth in qualifying yesterday with his Red Bull, Daniel Ricciardo will aim for a podium finish this afternoon in the race. Daniil Kvyat, in fifth, is happy with his position.
The Red Bulls seem in better shape on the unusual Monaco circuit. Daniel Ricciardo, 4th in qualifying, even thought he could have done better: “I’m a bit frustrated because I think I could have been in 3rd place. But there was a miscommunication with the pits at the start of my last lap… it’s a missed opportunity for us. In Monaco, every spot on the grid counts.”
With a well-balanced single-seater in hand, the Australian will aim for the podium in the race: « We are in a good position to attack and will try to finish on the podium in the race. I’m always happy to hit the track here and climb the curbs; I’ll try to enjoy it as much as possible. »
On his side, Daniil Kvyat is also not unhappy with his position, 5th, even though he remains a bit disappointed: « It’s a positive qualification for the team, even though it’s not where we wanted to be. But we are making progress and going in the right direction. »
