Vettel: “Anything can happen and I hope to make a good start”
Once again, Sebastian Vettel will start from the third position on the grid behind the Mercedes. Facing more difficulty, his teammate Kimi Räikkönen will only start sixth.
Difficult to beat the two Mercedes yesterday as they engaged in a fratricidal battle for pole position. Once again, Sebastian Vettel and his Ferrari are the best of the rest. Even though the two Red Bulls are getting closer, the German maintains the advantage.
He will start this afternoon from the good side of the track, on the trajectory, enough to give him ideas: « Anything can happen and I hope to make a good start. I will start third on the grid from the inside line. It’s possible to overtake one car at the start, two would be more complicated. The gap with our competitors is still there, but we have more to gain than to lose. »
Kimi Räikkönen is a bit further behind. However, his brush with the rail in FP3 apparently did not affect him: « I don’t think my accident this morning affected my qualifying. My car was working quite well aside from it being a bit hard to get the tires to work. We had a fast car but not a clear lap. It wasn’t really a good day and we’re surely going to pay the price in the race. »
