The first presentation dates for the 2016 F1 cars are known
Some teams have already announced the date for the presentation of their new car or livery for the 2016 season. Many of them are expected to coincide with the first days of official testing on the Barcelona track at the end of February.
As the first Grand Prix of the Formula 1 season approaches rapidly, some teams have already announced the launch date of their new car.
Many of these launches will coincide with the first official test days of the season, which will take place from February 22 to 25 at the Barcelona circuit.
Thus, the Haas and McLaren teams will take advantage of their presence in Spain on February 21 to present their new models to photographers. The American team is one of the most anticipated as it will make its debut in the discipline. Some observers are already commenting on a possible yellow livery, reminiscent of Ferrari’s logo, whose power units Haas will use.
Its livery, precisely, Red Bull will present it a week before the Barcelona tests, where its new single-seater is expected to be present. We remember last year that the Austrian team chose to participate in the pre-season tests with a camouflage livery to break its new lines and deceive rival observers. The intention might therefore be the same this year.
The Renault team, highly anticipated, is expected to unveil its organization, livery, and confirm its drivers at a press conference on February 3 in Paris. While Jolyon Palmer’s position does not seem threatened, Pastor Maldonado’s is somewhat more so. A persistent rumor even suggests Kevin Magnussen might already be placed in his seat. Regarding the team’s management, it should be led by Frédéric Vasseur, who has been in charge of the French team ART, notably present in GP2.
If Williams is expected to have its new car ready for the first day in Barcelona on February 22 and officially but modestly present it, Sauber, on the other hand, will have to make do with a slightly modified 2015 car. The Swiss team has already explained that it has fallen behind on its schedule and will not have its new car ready until March, for the second test session scheduled before the opening Grand Prix.
The other teams, namely Mercedes, Force India, Toro Rosso, Manor, and Ferrari, have not yet announced official launch dates, but these should be expected during February.
