Gasly becomes Red Bull reserve and targets Toro Rosso in 2017

The field of young French drivers is doing quite well with Esteban Ocon, Arthur Pic, Norman Nato, and Matthieu Vaxiviere, all present at the highest level of promotion formulas. Leading them, Pierre Gasly seems to have a head start.

Indeed, the young Norman, nurtured by Red Bull for three years, continues to rise through the ranks. For the 2016 season, he has just been appointed as the reserve driver for the main team, Red Bull Racing, replacing Sébastien Buemi, who held the post for years. This is certainly thrilling for the young Frenchman: « I will also be the reserve driver for the Red Bull team in 2016 and a member of the Red Bull Junior Team for the third year. It’s a great opportunity. » he confirmed on his Twitter account.

In parallel, he will continue his training in promotion formulas by participating in his second season in GP2 with the newcomer team Prema.

His main goal in the coming years is, of course, to secure a starting position in 2017 in Formula 1, and Toro Rosso seems to be the ideal choice for Gasly: « In 2017, there will be spots available at Toro Rosso in Formula 1. I fully intend to be one of them. »
