Ferrari presents its new single-seater

The new Ferrari, named SF16-H, was unveiled early in the afternoon live from Maranello. It stands out from its predecessor, primarily due to its red and white livery. The latter color features more prominently on the engine cover and the roll bar, reminiscent of the glorious 1970s era of the Scuderia with Niki Lauda.

With its short nose and very sleek rear, the lines of the SF16-H are refined. “I think this goes beyond the concept of a racing car. We hope it will be a winning car, a legendary car,” specified Maurizio Arrivabene.

The new single-seater will be present from Monday at the Barcelona circuit for the first day of winter testing, which will last for four days. On this occasion, the other teams entered for the 2016 season should also reveal their shapes and colors.

The goals will certainly be high as the Scuderia has not tasted the joy of a world title for nine seasons. Maurizio Arrivabene does not hide that he aims for more victories than last year: « Last year’s goal was to have three victories and we achieved them. This year, we need to push even more. We must at least aim for the championship. We would like to be able to fight until the end of the championship. We know it won’t be easy. Our competitors are not sleeping and are not waiting for us. »

He is followed in these remarks by Sebastian Vettel, who intends to reconnect with the success he experienced at Red Bull: « I think, naturally, our goals are rising. We had a fantastic season last year. Obviously, we want more. Last year, we finished second in the Constructors’ championship. It’s just one additional step, even if it’s a tough one. Hopefully, the car will allow us to reach it. »
